What is ROP?
The Lassen County ROP offers vocational training and career information services to high school students and adults. Classes are located on the local high school campuses. As an ROP student, you may also receive on-the-job training. This training is called Community Classroom (unpaid) and Coop (paid). The ROP classes are based on workplace competencies in the specific program of your choice. You may receive these competencies either in the classroom or at entry-level employment with local businesses.
Community Classroom & Cooperative Vocational Education:
Community Classroom enables the vocational training to take place in a work setting. An "Individualized Training Plan" for the student is implemented. The student is supervised by both the work site supervisor and his/her ROP instructor. If the employer chooses to hire the student, the student is considered a Cooperative Vocational Education (Co-op) student. A Coop student is the same as a Community Classroom student except they are paid.

College credit may also be earned in some courses.
